Anal Botox at Infinite Health Zone in San Francisco

Consultations are complimentary and easy to schedule

Persistent tightness, spasm, or pain involving the anal sphincter is more common than most people realize, and it is rarely something patients feel comfortable bringing up. At Infinite Health Zone, anal Botox is offered as a straightforward, non-surgical option delivered by a board-certified anesthesiologist in a private Union Square office.

Whether your concern is functional discomfort or comfort during receptive intimacy, the consultation is direct, judgment-free, and focused on what will actually help.

The anal sphincter is a ring of muscle that can become chronically overactive. When it stays tight, the result is tension, spasm, pain, and difficulty relaxing.

Botulinum toxin injected into the sphincter temporarily reduces that muscle’s ability to contract with full force. The muscle relaxes, pressure drops, and the cycle of tension and pain is interrupted. It is the same mechanism Dr. A uses to treat jaw clenching and chronic muscle pain, applied to a different muscle group.

The treatment is temporary and reversible. Nothing is cut, and normal function returns as the effect wears off.

Botox for Bottoming: Comfort During Receptive Intimacy

For patients who experience tension, guarding, or discomfort during receptive anal sex, relaxing the sphincter can make a meaningful difference. This is a common reason patients seek the treatment, and it is discussed here as the clinical matter it is.

Anal Sphincter Tension,
Spasm, and Pain

Proctalgia, levator spasm, and post-surgical tightness can all involve a sphincter that will not release. When conservative measures have not worked, targeted injection is a reasonable next step.

What to Expect From Your Treatment

Consultation. A private conversation about your symptoms, history, and goals. If anal Botox is not the right answer, Dr. A will say so and discuss alternatives.

Treatment. The injection is performed in-office and takes only a few minutes. Topical numbing may be applied if needed. Most patients describe the sensation as brief pressure rather than sharp pain.

Afterward. There is no meaningful downtime. Most people return to normal activity the same day.

Results. Relaxation develops gradually, with the full effect typically seen within one to three weeks. Results generally last three to four months, after which the treatment can be repeated.

How long does it last?
Typically three to four months. The effect fades gradually and the treatment can be repeated.

Is there downtime?
No meaningful downtime. Most patients resume normal activity the same day.

Does insurance cover it?

Why Choose Dr. A for Anal Botox in San Francisco

Dr. A is board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and spent ten years as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford. Dr. A’s practice is built around therapeutic botulinum toxin, not cosmetic work alone, which means precise dosing and placement for a muscle where both matter a great deal.

The office is in Union Square, and consultations are private. Many patients have never discussed this concern with a physician before, and the appointment is structured accordingly.
